This place seems to be incredibly warm, from the people to the Mediterranean humidity. My body is not build for such a place. I have a hard time explaining myself, I pour sweat.
The journey was rough to say the least. Perhaps because I'm a rusty traveler. Perhaps because the eight hour and fifty five minute flight, in the area of a fourth grader's cast iron and polished pine desk leaves little room to express such things as explosive gas, repulsion to small areas, and intolerance for wiggly people around you. I should not say to much however, as I'm waking from a twenty seven minute night sleep to find, to my mother's observation, that I've become an overnight thief of four pillows, and three blankets from surrounding travelers. This is really funny considering that the two expensive felt neck pillows I bought in the airport before leaving are gone. I later recovered one, the other I'm writing off as retribution from our proximate travel neighbors.
The presumed victims were first an affluent looking couple to the rear, who kicked up no fuss about my repeated slams forward and back on the airplane chair trying to find a comfort point, nor the beef steak nuggets, and American Airlines chicken and pasta gastrointestinal discharge that I'm sure I couldn't manage during my nap. Second victims an Eastern European couple, far less tolerant of the knee smashes on the of their chairs all night at 31,355 ft., or the incident early in the morning where an errant water cup my cousin Brandy descarded, caught in a comedy of errors, caught the man's left, and wife's right armsleeves repectively, and bled a dozen or so drops of Dasani, like battery acid on paper. It caused a huge scene in such a small place. She offered to clean the thrift store garments, somehow I think we haven't seen the last of this guy.
The people here are magnificent, and friendly too, the food, which I've not tasted yet, renown, and the landscape has inspired poets, painters, and scholars.
I've heard much, but experience little.
No pressure Naples with your publicized garbage strikes, immigrations issues, and the reputation for being the Hobokken of Italy.
If I had to guess based on my experiences so far, you'll prove me wrong.
